Healing Circle Series

Affirming Our Voices: restoring light, transforming spaces (AOV) is a monthly peer-to-peer ancestral healing space dedicated to creating transformative connections and relationships through radical honesty, intentional listening, and meaningful dialogue. Community members get the opportunity to work through complex issues faced by marginalized folks in the Bronx and northern Manhattan in a social and healing justice-centered space.

Community members

AOV addresses a pressing need to center narratives of communal healing for Black and Brown young femmes and folks of color in a borough with few culturally relevant mental health resources for all. Using a model of peer-to-peer support, Brown Girl Brigade facilitators teach community members to be compassion guides equipped with the skills to share practical, social, and emotional knowledge with each other and their broader communities of school, home, and our target neighborhoods.
